Nottingham Glow Ride
Thursday 22nd October 2026
Last year, thousands of people lit up the streets in 67 towns and cities across the UK as part of Cycling UK’s ‘My ride. Our right’ campaign including here in Nottingham.
Following on from our very successful and enjoyable Glow Ride in Nottingham where we had over 60 participants, we’re doing it all again, and we’d love you to be part of it.

As the nights start to draw in more quickly after the Autumn Equinox, cycling in the evening can feel less safe for some women. Poorly lit streets, unpopulated areas, parks and waterside paths can sometimes feel intimidating, and even more so at night. For some people, this can put them off cycling for journeys they would routinely make in summer.
Glow rides are a colourful celebration of cycling that shine a light on the need for safer streets and better cycle routes, especially for women riding after dark. Together, we can show decision makers that more needs to be done to make cycling feel safe and accessible for everyone.
Our women-led, open to everyone glow ride will again be organised by Pedals, Women in Tandem and NottsCTC.
This ride is for women of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, and those that want to support our right to ride with confidence. We ride at the pace of the slowest rider, stop for breaks whenever you want and promise you will never be alone at the back!
It will be a short ride (about 1 hour) at a very steady pace and we will have lots of support on hand from experienced riders.
Bring yourself, your bike (or use one of Nottingham’s hire bikes), and if you have some fun lights, or things that sparkle, bring those too.
We’ll have music too.
If you’ve got any questions or concerns, or if you need some extra support to help you join this event, please get in touch (email: hello@womenintandem.org.uk / 07511502741).
