Pedals Nottingham Cycle Campaign Organising Meeting
Agenda for Pedals monthly meeting on Monday 17 August 2026 at 5:30pm, Vat and Fiddle Public House, Queen’s Bridge Road, Nottingham NG2 1NB:

1. Welcome and apologies for absence from Dave Smith
2. Minutes of the Pedals Meeting held on July 20 2026 and matters arising
3. Issues newcomers may wish to raise.
4. Waterside Bridge: recent developments including signing, complaints about speeding cyclists, Trent Boulevard / Radcliffe Road / Holme Road and other local junction changes and further promotion of links on both banks of the Trent.
5. Update on proposed Path Creation Order for upgrading the subway-underpass under the A52 south of Sharp Hill: developments since meeting on 8 May with James Naish MP including letter of 7 August from John Lee of Nottingham City Council. (Brendan McCabe & Hugh McClintock)
6. Update on plans for the East Midlands Cyclists’ Forum on Saturday 3 Oct 2026: costs, refreshments, lunch, processing of Eventbrite bookings, requests for local campaign updates, main room and kitchen hire, IT arrangements, roving mikes, displays etc., (Dave Smith, Susan Young & Hugh McClintock).
7. Arrangements for Pedals Stall at the Nottingham Green Festival on Sunday 14 September: volunteers to staff our stall, supplies of Pedals business cards and flyers, new Nottingham Cycle Maps etc.
8. Missing and substandard links including recent detailed comments from Kev Swindells (Dave Smith, Hugh McClintock, Samuel Shoesmith)
9. Beeston Lime bikes issue: 19th June message from (Broxtowe Councillor) Andy Kingdon and recent comments from David Rhead re Broxtowe Borough Council Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
10. Cancellation of Proposed River Leen Walks National Rivers Walk Project bid, being coordinated by Liz Cordle of the Nottingham Access Forum and Sarah Ansari of the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust (Hugh McClintock)
11. Proposed Tri-County Active Travel Bridge: date in early November, e.g. Mondays 9 or 23rd November, for an online evening meeting to follow up Leicester meeting on 25 January: proposal for an independent Chair

EMCCA Climate Coalition meeting with EMCCA Transport Staff on Thursday 20 August in Chesterfield: discussion of items to raise including responses to the Mayor’s Transport Plan consultation, the proposed national ATE/Combined Authorities Active Travel Network and update on “The Loop” (Hugh McClintock)
