Welcome, and apologies for absence
Minutes of the 19 January meeting and review of matters arising including campaign updates:-
Replacement bag for the new Pedals table-top folding display boards? DNC/DL/SY
New cycle-hostile barriers installed at Rushcliffe Country Park access points: Freedom of
Information Request to Rushcliffe Borough Council and subsequent follow-up to obtain wider
support (Samuel Shoesmith & Hugh McClintock)
Update on the campaign to get the County Council to repair and reopen the Cotgrave Greenway
including the petition recently submitted by James Naish MP with the support of Councillors Roger
Upton and Richard Butler. (Hugh McClintock)
Update on Proposal for Notts County Council now to take the lead in drafting a path Creation
Order for upgrading the subway-underpass under the A52 south of Sharp Hill and its approaches
including proposed meeting with James Naish MP. (Brendan McCabe & Hugh McClintock)
Update on “RoSChet” proposals including presentation to cyclists in Leicester on Sunday 25th
January and possible further meeting in Nottingham in the autumn (Hugh McClintock)
Update on work to complete the Waterside Foot-Cycle Bridge by the end of May and plans for
opening celebrations by the City Council and Pedals, etc. (Hugh McClintock & Samuel Shoesmith)
Promoting cycling to schools, including bike buses, and generally among young people, including
David Nicholson-Cole’s proposed survey (Samuel Shoesmith, Brendan McCabe and David NC) and
proposal for Pedals to draft a comprehensive map of safe routes to Schools, etc. (Roland

Timetable and roles for planning the next East Midlands Cyclists’ Forum to be hosted by Pedals in
Nottingham Saturday 3rd October 2025 including costs / subsidy, including refreshments and lunch,
“save the date” publicity arrangements, handling of bookings, etc., with particular reference to
Susan’s recently circulated very helpful list of detailed suggestions (Dave Smith, Susan Young &
Hugh McClintock).

Message of 23 January from Ken Timmis of the Derby Cycling Group asking for Pedals involvement
in the proposed Ayup Bikes Derby Bike Festival to be held in Derby’s renovated Market Hall on 18
April 2026.
Possible Pedals Support for the new campaign for West Bridgford to have its own Town Council,
coordinated by Geri Griffin, Secretary of the Central West Bridgford Community Association and a
