- Minutes of the meeting of 20 January 2025, matters arising and review of Actions including:-
- Improving cycle parking at Morrison’s Superstore, Gamston: Mark Beaven to update
- proposed coordinated campaign with Sustrans and NFFC to improve the section of NCN15 between County Hall / Trent Bridge and Lady Bay bridge, including diverting the route under the City Ground Trent End Stand (link to current revised RBC planning application 19/02589/HYBRID for the Redevelopment of the Peter Taylor Stand at the City Ground, comments for which are needed by 27 Feb): Mark Beaven & Brendan McCabe to update.
- update on signing of the contract with Balfour Beattie for the construction of the Waterside Foot-Cycle Bridge and associated publicity and likely timetable for the start of works.
- Erewash Canal towpath and request for Pedals involvement in carrying out a detailed audit of the barriers; Peter Briggs, David Nicholson-Cole and David Lally to report on recent site visit and update on audit progress.
- Early feedback on the implications for cyclists of the new taxi bays on the west side of Carrington Street outside Nottingham Station.
- Proposal from Jude Wilkinson for a new Pedals campaign to help avoid cases of very poor new cycling provision in new developments such as that recently highlighted by Peter Osborne in Cotgrave/ Hollygate lane.
- Proposal from Brendan McCabe for a new Pedals campaign to promote cycling to and from schools, and generally among children / young people.
- Report from Dave Smith on the Labour Cycle Campaigners’ Conference in Leicester, on Saturday 1 February; also briefly EMR campaign status
- Report on Greater Nottingham (main) CAWAG meeting of 17 February: Hugh to report
- Implications for Pedals future campaigning of the 2025 County Council elections and the proposed wholesale revision to the existing pattern of Councils in the County, in c2027, including the likely abolition of Borough / District Councils, and the establishment of 2 new Unitary Authorities.
- Notts Cycling: scope for possible collaboration between Pedals and the Newark & Sherwood Active Travel Advisory Group etc.: exchange of messages with Geoff Lester (8-9 February)
- Preparations for Pedals AGM on Monday 17 March 2025, including officers’ roles: sharing options, giving one month’s written notice to all Pedals Supporters, circulating minutes of the 2024 AGM, and confirmation of Chairing and Minute-taking arrangements.
- AoB, including any particular items / issues which any newcomers would like to raise.
