The D2N2 LCWIP is a document that has been prepared by four councils – Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, Derby City Council, and Derbyshire County Council – identifying routes which they have identified as priorities for investment in walking and cycling facilities over the next 15 years. The LCWIP’s are used to support funding bids to design and deliver these schemes.
Responsibility for taking forward delivery of the LCWIP across the D2N2 area has, since 2024, been handed over to the Mayor of the East Midlands Combined County Authority.

The Mayor of the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) launched The Mayor’s Big Transport Conversation. With the power passing to the mayor to plan transport, a consultation process was started for members of the public to comment on. In response to the Mayor’s Local Transport Plan, Pedals produced a collective response, which can be found here.
