Hi everyone,

My work is relocating to Canal Street in town, and I'm going to have to cycle 3 days a week to the new office from Sherwood.

Does anyone have a decent route across town to use? I'll be coming down the Mansfield Road.

I used to just cycle down Clumber St and follow the tram tracks, but I believe I can be stopped for cycling along Clumber St, so any alternative route would be welcome.

Has anyone got any suggestions for any marvellous cycle bags that can be attached to the bike without the pannier racks?

Currently I use a pannier bag that I can put my laptop and A4 papers in, but I'm going to be commuting with my daughter and her new bike seat fits on the pannier rack.

I don't really want to be using a backpack as it might end up knocking my daughter.

Any ideas?

What did people make of this evenings news about the guy getting an ASBO for cycling on the pavement?  See here.  I was hoping that it might be someone more articulate who might reason that there are circumstances where cycling on the pavement is the only safe option available to cyclists, and provided that it is done at a sensible speed with all caution given to pedestrians it
