Beechdale Road to University

Hi all, first post so I hope that this is the correct place.

I just moved from Sheffield to near (the bottom end towards the swimming pool) Beechdale Road in Nottingham so that I can go back to university as a postgraduate. I have my son enrolled at the nursery on the campus and we intend to cycle (he'll just sit on the seat and enjoy the ride). I have no idea of the best route, where to find the best route from which maps etc... I would be really grateful for all advice.

Many Thanks

Maps

You can download copies of the latest City Council cycle maps (north and south) from their website at: http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/sitemap/services/transport_and_streets/cdt_cycling.htm or obtain printed copies from Steve Brewer (email: steve.brewer [at] nottinghamcity [dot] gov [dot] uk)

From Beechdale Baths you can use Sustrans Route 6 from Beechdale Road  via Radford Bridge Road (closed to motor vehicles) under the railway towards Crown Island and then through the subway and follow the Ring Road (Middleton Boulevard and Clifton Boulevard) cycle paths towards the main campus of Nottingham University, using one of the series of 3 signalled crossing of Middleton Boulevard between Crown Island the Derby Road underpass junction.

Hi there, Not overly

Hi there,

Not overly familiar with the area, but a good place to start would be to look at the City Council cycle maps (http://www.pedals.org.uk/maps_and_routes) or the Pedals Pushers map book (http://www.pedals.org.uk/books). Should be able to pick these up from bike shops of the Tourist Info.

Have forwarded this to people to see if anyone has a suggested route.
